Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum

Vuk Velebit, President of the Pupin Initiative, presented Serbia–Romania cooperation priorities at the Danube Corridor panel in Bucharest.

At the Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum in Bucharest, Vuk Velebit, President of the Pupin Initiative, presented our policy framework for Serbia–Romania cooperation built around three strategic pillars: the Danube, IMEC, and gas connectivity.

Speaking at the panel “The Danube Corridor: Strategic Artery for Infrastructure and Security in Europe,” the discussion focused on the future role of the Danube corridor in commercial trade, military mobility, and the reconstruction of Ukraine. Particular attention was given to future gas reserves, the Neptun project, and broader energy developments in the Black Sea region.

It was emphasized that Constanța has become strategically critical due to Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports, while also stressing that the long-term future must include the recovery and reintegration of Ukraine’s port infrastructure into Europe’s connectivity network.
