First Congressional Briefing on Serbia–U.S. Relations Held on Capitol Hill

Washington, D.C. — At the invitation of Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, and together with the Pupin Initiative, the first congressional briefing dedicated to Serbia–United States relations was held on Capitol Hill, marking an important milestone in Serbia’s positioning within the framework of institutional dialogue in Washington.

The briefing was hosted at the invitation of Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, Co-Chair of the Serbian Caucus in the U.S. Congress, and brought together members of Congress, diplomats, political advisors, and relevant foreign policy stakeholders.

On that occasion, Vuk Velebit, President of the Pupin Initiative, presented the 2025 Annual Report on Serbia–U.S. Relations, which offers a comprehensive analysis of the key trends, challenges, and strategic opportunities shaping bilateral relations.

During the briefing, it was emphasized that Serbia–U.S. relations are increasingly developing through concrete cooperation in the fields of security, economics, technology, and energy, and that the relationship is undergoing a gradual transformation toward a greater degree of strategic alignment.

It was particularly noted that this briefing represents a first step toward a more systematic and institutionalized dialogue with the U.S. legislative branch, which is of key importance for the long-term strengthening of bilateral relations.

This is not just another event, but an important institutional step forward. For the first time, Serbia–U.S. relations were presented directly within Congress, with a focus on concrete results and future directions of cooperation,” Velebit said.

The Pupin Initiative will continue to work on deepening the strategic dialogue between Serbia and the United States, with the goal of strengthening economic and energy cooperation, as well as the security partnership.
