Pupin Initiative in Washington, D.C. – Participation in the “Free and Open Spaces Forum”

Pupin Initiative took part in the “Free and Open Spaces Forum” in Washington, organized by The Heritage Foundation, where the Black Sea, the Danube corridor, and the future of regional connectivity were at the center of discussion.
Vuk Velebit, President of the Pupin Initiative, participated in the panel “Free & Open Black Sea & Danube River,” alongside distinguished representatives from Romania, Ukraine, Germany, Turkey, and the United States. The discussion focused on the strategic importance of preserving freedom of navigation, strengthening regional stability, and advancing energy and connectivity projects across Southeast Europe.
During the panel, the joint study by the New Strategy Center and the Pupin Initiative, Romania and Serbia: Strong Foundations, Strategic Connectivity – Three Pillars for Deepening Cooperation, was also presented, highlighting the growing importance of Serbia–Romania cooperation in a changing geopolitical and geoeconomic environment.
We are proud to contribute to these important conversations in Washington and to advance dialogue on the strategic role of our region in Europe’s future.
