An Mikono Čopić

An Mikono Čopič is an incoming student at Dartmouth College, where he will pursue a major in Government, Public Policy, and Quantitative Social Science. Originally from Ljubljana, Slovenia, he has lived in Belgrade since 2022 and is completing his education at the British International School.

His academic focus centers on transatlantic relations, human rights, international law, and institutional development in post-socialist societies. As an intern at the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, he authored The Transatlantic Bargain in Crisis, a research analysis examining U.S.–European strategic realignment and its implications for the Western Balkans. His work integrates legal, economic, and geopolitical perspectives on alliance credibility and democratic governance.

An Mikono has participated in 18 international Model United Nations conferences and serves as Secretary-General of the Belgrade International Model United Nations, where he cooperates with embassies and international institutions in organizing large-scale diplomatic simulations.

He also interned in Global Markets & Treasury at NLB Bank, gaining exposure to monetary policy and financial markets. His civic engagement includes environmental and social volunteer initiatives supporting community development in Serbia.
