Visit to the Đerdap I Hydropower Plant

The Pupin Initiative team received valuable insights into the operation of the hydropower plant and the strategic importance of the Danube River.

The first stop on our tour of Eastern Serbia was the Đerdap I Hydroelectric Power Plant, one of Serbia’s most important energy facilities and a symbol of the power of the Danube River.

During our visit, we had the opportunity to hear valuable insights from Director Radomir Mitrović, as well as numerous experts working within the system, about the plant’s operations, electricity generation, and the challenges facing the modern energy sector.

The Danube is not only a driver of clean energy production, it is also one of Europe’s most important waterways, connecting people, economies, and trade routes across the continent.

This visit provided us with valuable knowledge and new perspectives that will contribute to our continued work and the development of initiatives that serve the interests of Serbia and support its sustainable growth.
