Amb. Carla Sands New Senior Advisor to the Pupin Initiative
Former US Ambassador Carla Sands joins the Pupin Initiative as Senior Advisor, further strengthening our US engagement
We are delighted to share that former US Ambassador to Denmark, Carla Sands, has joined our organization as a Senior Advisor. Her involvement marks another significant step in strengthening our presence in Washington and deepening engagement within bipartisan foreign policy circles. Through this development, the Pupin Initiative reaffirms its dedication to advancing Serbia–US relations by working collaboratively with both Republican and Democratic partners.
Below, we provide a brief biography:
Carla Sands is Chair of the America First Foreign Policy Initiative and Distinguished Senior Fellow in Energy Policy at the America First Policy Institute. She served as US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, including Greenland and the Faroe Islands, from 2017 to 2021, where she advanced US national security interests, opened a consulate in Greenland, and expanded bilateral trade. For her service, she received the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service.
Prior to her diplomatic career, Ambassador Sands was Chairman and CEO of Vintage Capital Group and Vintage Real Estate, overseeing a portfolio of retail properties across the United States. She also served on President Trump’s Economic Advisory Council. She currently chairs The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Advisory Council and sits on the boards of the Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum, the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy, and the Independent Women’s Forum.
